Camp Donuts



Makes 24-30 donuts



  • 6-8 slcies white bread with crusts off
  • Good Raspberry Jam
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 cup Self Raising Flour
  • ¾ cup milk
  • Cinnamon and sugar mixed together to coat donuts after cooking
  • Vegetable oil for shallow frying


Method



Make jam sandwiches out of the bread, making sure to smear plenty of jam on each. Cut each sandwich into 4 triangles by cutting on the diagonal.

To make batter beat egg and sugar and then add flour and milk. Dip sandwiches into batter one at a time, shallow fry in oil. Serve hot sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar.
